When someone asks you about your skincare routine, I bet you start to tell them about all of the wonderful cleansers, serums, and moisturizers you use on your face. While all of that is necessary for healthy skin, it seems like most people have forgotten that our skin covers our entire body! So, how do you take care of the rest of your skin?
Â
Our skin is our body’s first live of defense when it comes to harmful substances. While it is always regenerating and producing new cells, it’s also absorbing much of what we come into contact with. If we take care of it properly, we can fight off early signs of aging, reduce the appearance of scar tissue, and create a body that will glow for years to come!

Exfoliate from neck to toe with a body scrub
You know how important it is to exfoliate your face, right? The same goes for the rest of your body! Exfoliating loosens dead skin cells and cleanses deep into your pores. If you’ve noticed that your skin has been looking a bit dull lately, grab our Calm Coconut Sugar Body Polish! Sometimes, all the lotion in the world can’t help you and you need to exfoliate those dead skin cells away and show off your glowing skin
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
After you exfoliate, it’s really important to hydrate your skin. In fact, it’s always really important to hydrate your skin! Well-hydrated skin keeps out whole body looking and feeling smooth and young. Use a rich body crème like our Calm Amberwood +Myrrh Body Crème to keep you skin hydrated from the outside, and make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside.
Wear SPF
It doesn’t matter if it isn’t ho tor sunny out, the sun is still emitting UV rays into the atmosphere. Every time you leave the house, you should lather a bit of lotion with an SPF content of no lower than 15. If you’re going to be outside for a prolonged period of time, wear a lotion with an SPF content of 30. If you’re going to the beach, laying out by the pool, or participating in other summertime activities, your SPF should be no lower than 50!
If you have body acne…
Take a look at your body wash. Toss out your bar soap and loofah and replace them with a water-soluble body cleanser that is oil and fragrance-free. Even if your soap is fragranced with essential oils, it’s not good for acne-prone skin. Use a leave-on BHA exfoliator after your shower to gently lift away dead skin cells and unclog pores and wash them away during your next shower. You can use a BHA exfoliator every day if you’d like but many people still see results when they use it every other day.

Taking good care of our skin shouldn’t stop at the face. Keep your whole body luminous and youthful by creating a skincare routine that goes all the way from head to toe!
